JAS Law is locating in the heart of Silicon Valley at Sunnyvale, California, and is looking to add an patent associate attorney to our growing firm.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and draft patent applications for filing to U.S. and International Patent and Trademark Office; Conduct the prosecution of patent and trademark applications and respond to office actions;

• Draft and review complex commercial agreements, IP related assignment and technology transfer agreements, material transfer agreements, non-disclosure agreements, manufacturing agreements, supply and installation agreements, license agreements, employment agreement and technology transfer agreements;

• Provide ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas, such as intellectual property, regulatory privacy law compliance, commercial transactions, and employment issues;

• Assist clients in forming a new company, subsidiary or branch; Provide legal counseling for investors;

• Evaluate inventions to determine patentability, especially for filing to US and international Patent and Trademark Offices;

• Assist with drafting of company policies and procedures in compliance with various legal rules.

Requirements:

• Admitted to a California State Bar and an attorney in good standing

• JD degree from an accredited US law school

• Authorized to practice before U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

• Strong patent prosecution background, more than 2 years of professional experience in US patent law

• Academic credentials in Chemistry, Biomedical or Biotechnology fields

• Excellent writing, analytical, communication, and people skills
