Ya-Fen (Jasmine) Chen provides high quality professional legal services to companies, academic institutions and investment groups.  Jasmine's legal practice focuses on all areas of intellectual property (IP) counseling, including U.S. and international patent prosecution, strategic patent portfolio management and monetization, pre-litigation due diligence, investment and merger and acquisition (M&A) due diligence, technology transfer, business alliance, patent in-licensing and out-licensing, freedom to operate analysis, and FDA-related IP issues.  Her law office also provides part-time or virtual in-house counsel services. Jasmine applies business sense and cost-effectiveness in counseling her clients on IP legal matters.  The quality of her work product fits those clients looking for a close, efficient working relationship.

Jasmine is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. She is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and admitted to practice law in California. Jasmine is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). She earned a J.D. from the University of San Francisco Law School and obtained a special Certificate (with Honors) in Intellectual Property and Technology Law. Jasmine has a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Cornell University and a B.S. in Plant Pathology and Entomology from National Taiwan University. She was a judicial extern at San Mateo County Superior Court.  Jasmine was a postdoctoral fellow in the Division of Immunology and Transplantation Biology, Department of Pediatrics, Stanford University Medical Center where she was awarded an American Society of Transplant Physicians-SangStat Fellowship.

A PhD scientist by training, Jasmine has more than 18 years of patent law practice experience covering a wide range of technologies, including biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical processing, medical devices, semiconductor processing, biomedical life sciences, and various nanotechnologies.  She is engaging, organized, and motivated, and she thrives on handling inventive technologies.  Her legal experience includes working in a patent specialty law firm in Palo Alto, California, involving client counseling for business start-ups, complex patent portfolio management for large companies, patent strategy for new drug leads and development pipelines, budgeting and prioritizing technology innovations, IP due diligence support, non-infringement and invalidity opinion practice, M&A, pre-litigation investigation, and related patent issues in NDA, ANDA, and IND for new drug applications submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Frank Shieh

Frank is an experienced patent attorney and former software engineer with a unique blend of technical expertise and legal acumen. He specializes in intellectual property law, with a decade of experience helping global companies protect their innovations and navigate complex IP challenges. Frank has a proven track record of success, including helping clients boost patent allowance rates, draft foundational patents, and manage extensive international IP portfolios.

His career includes significant experience in diverse environments, from large tech companies and law firms to early-stage startups. His technical background spans a wide range of emerging technologies, including AI/ML, blockchain, and quantum computing, as well as processor architecture, memory and power management, connected devices, encryption, optical systems, material science, and software. 

Frank earned his B.A. in Applied Math with a Computer Science emphasis from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Santa Clara University School of Law. Fluent in Mandarin and proficient in Cantonese and Taiwanese, Frank is skilled at counseling international teams and inventors to transform innovative ideas into valuable intellectual assets.

Junhui Ye

葉俊暉律師 (Junhui Ye) 已取得法學博士 (Juris Doctor) 學位並獲得加州律師執業資格。他畢業於加州大學戴維斯分校法學院 (UC Davis School of Law)，接受過系統且嚴格的美國法學教育，並具備中國與美國兩地的法律實務經驗。

葉律師主要負責並支援美國移民法、公司法及專利相關事務，在移民申請與合規、企業設立與公司治理，以及專利與智慧財產權法律支援方面，擁有紮實的理論基礎與實踐經驗。他擅長法律研究、法律文件起草及案件分析，能在跨法域與複雜法律問題中提供清晰且具執行力的法律支持。

Attorney 律師

Junhui Ye is a legal professional licensed to practice law in California and holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the UC Davis School of Law, University of California, Davis. He received rigorous legal training in the United States and has practical legal experience in both China and the United States, enabling him to work effectively in cross-border legal contexts.

Junhui’s practice focuses on U.S. immigration law, corporate law, and patent-related matters, with experience supporting immigration filings and compliance, corporate formation and governance, as well as patent and intellectual property–related legal work. He is skilled in legal research, drafting, and case analysis, and is committed to providing clear, practical legal solutions to complex legal issues.

In addition, Junhui is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, allowing him to effectively serve clients from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. He approaches his work with strong analytical skills and a high level of professional responsibility, and is dedicated to delivering reliable, high-quality legal services in both U.S. and cross-border matters.

Demi Ma

Known for her ability to streamline workflows and elevate operational efficiency, Demi always keeps the customer experience front and center. She is a strong advocate for transparency and clear communication throughout every process. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, Demi bridges cultural and business gaps with ease. Demi is also similar to Dr. Dolittle as she is a proud pet mom of a wide range of animals and a passionate hockey fan. Go Sharks!

His extensive hands-on experience as both a legal clerk and an apprentice lawyer—complemented by his prior background in investment management and international sales—allows him to approach legal challenges with a unique commercial perspective tailored to our global clientele. Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, Don excels at bridging cultural and legal divides, delivering precise, insight-driven legal solutions that align with our clients' strategic business goals.

林東陽 (Don) 先生是本法律團隊的卓越成員，於國際商務法、智慧財產權保護及合約分析領域積累了深厚的實務經驗。林先生目前為加州大學戴維斯分校 (UC Davis) 法學院的法學博士 (J.D.) 候選人，並曾以「優等生」(Cum Laude) 榮譽畢業於亞利桑那州立大學商務管理專業。憑藉紮實的商法雙修背景，他建立了涵蓋法律檢索、專利申請流程及跨國諮詢服務的全方位專業技能。
