Job Title: Lawyer

JAS Law LLP is looking for a full-time lawyer in its Sunnyvale, California location.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and draft patent and trademark applications for filing to U.S. and International Patent and Trademark Office; Conduct the prosecution of patent and trademark applications and respond to office actions;
Draft and review complex commercial agreements, IP related assignment and technology transfer agreements, material transfer agreements, non-disclosure agreements, manufacturing agreements, supply and installation agreements, license agreements, employment agreement and technology transfer agreements;
Provide ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas, such as intellectual property, regulatory privacy law compliance, commercial transactions, and employment issues;
Assist clients in forming a new company, subsidiary or branch; Provide legal counseling for investors;
Evaluate inventions to determine patentability, especially for filing to US and international Patent and Trademark Offices;
Assist with drafting of company policies and procedures in compliance with various legal rules.

Requirements:

Admitted to a California State Bar and an attorney in good standing
Authorized to practice before U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
LLM or JD degree from an accredited US law school
Preferred to have strong patent prosecution background
Preferred to be a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US)
Preferred to have more than 2 years of professional experience
Excellent academic credentials
Professional references (at least two references)
Excellent writing, analytical, communication, and people skills
